Our Story
The UK Right to Rent Register was founded by Moz Stewart and evolved from a landlord and tenant focus group into a national social enterprise addressing risk, compliance, and trust in the private rented sector. The organisation responds to the challenges faced by both landlords and tenants around Right to Rent legislation, which many landlords remain unclear about, despite significant penalties for non-compliance. The Register provides a voluntary national landlord and tenant registration scheme designed to build transparency, reduce discrimination, and create a fairer balance in the lettings market. Its work supports genuine tenants to demonstrate their eligibility while helping landlords meet their legal responsibilities with confidence.

Through the Enterprise for Success programme, Moz received one-to-one business support from advisor Mike Byrne, alongside participation in workshops and networking events. The support focused on developing a clear communication strategy and strengthening the business plan. Work included exploring engagement with landlord associations, improving referral pathways, developing social media influence, and identifying potential funding and public sector contracting opportunities. The advice helped refine how the social enterprise positions its services, communicates its value to both landlords and tenants, and prepares for sustainable growth and wider national impact.
